How To Improve On Your Personal Time Management
Oct 10th, 2009 by Veron
Whether you are in a work from home program network marketing MLM home business or have a job working from home, it is crucial that you master the art of personal time management. Especially when you are working at home, there can be numerous distractions from the kids to housework or other family members. Practicing good personal time management helps you set a stronger foundation for success.
Step 1 Set your goals. What are your long-term goals? What do you plan to achieve? It is important that you have a target in mind.
Step 2 Break your goals into short-term monthly and weekly goals as well as daily bite-sized goals so that you always have an eye on what you plan to achieve and do not steer too far off course.
Step 3 When you start your day, begin it with tasks that are urgent. Tasks that need to get done first. You have to prioritize your time.
Step 4 Avoid checking your inbox first thing in the morning. If you are like me, you will find yourself assaulted by dozens of other tasks that need your immediate attention whilst checking your inbox. This can be done later in the day. Use your morning, a time when you are at your freshest, to do more productive tasks.
Step 5 Structure your day. Break your day into 2 or 3 hour blocks. Take a break in between each time block. This allows you to become more focused in the moment which helps a great deal.
Step 6 Have a to-do list. I find that having a to-do list daily helps me stay organized and I do not stray too far off from my goals. This keeps me on track.
Step 7 Eliminate time wasters. Avoid unnecessary telephone calls or getting caught up with the television whilst working.
Step 8 Keep your body in shape. Exercising a minimum of two times a week is recommended to maintain basic fitness and health. A healthy body can help prevent burnout.
Step 9 Have a quiet time for yourself each night and run through what you have accomplished during the day. Identify areas where you could have had better management of your time. Set your to-do list for the next day.
Step 10 A good night’s sleep is indispensable. On average, between 6 – 8 hours of sleep is sufficient for most individuals for good health and wellbeing.
Time is equal for every each and every person. We all have only 24 hours in a day. However some people are able to manage their time better. Time waits for no man. Learn the art of personal time management and you will soon see your network marketing MLM home business, work from home program or any sort of job working from home achieving some headway.
Would love to hear from each and everyone of you on how you take strides to improve upon your personal time management. Thank you for sharing!
