If you are in Wordpress or any other programs, look out for the icon that looks like a chain link.  Highlight your text, then click on the hyperlink icon and insert the necessary information which is basically the link url.

Recently I have found a much simpler way to create hyperlinks.  If you do not know any html and prefer not to have anything to do with it, then go to google.com.  Search for “Myspace clickable link generator”.  Visit the website and there you will find two boxes where you will need to input your details.  The first box, link name, is for your anchor text.  The second box is for your URL.  Then click ‘generate code’ and voila!  You already have the code automatically generated for you.  All you need to do is to copy and paste it as and where you wish to use it.

The anchor text that is displayed is also known as the backlink to your site. Because some search engines use anchor text as an off-page factor in determining a site’s ranking, it is best to use your keywords as anchor text if possible for your hyperlink text.  This will help your website search engine optimization as well as keyword optimization to a certain extent.
